In fact, we can find acts of caring in every corner of our campus. A casual greeting, a friendly smile or a helping hand can bring joy and warm wishes to others. If each of us can be a little more considerate and giving, our campus can become even more caring and nurturing. Below is some CUHKers’ caring anecdotes, you may have similar experience!
When you step into CUHK. What attracts you most? Is it the green and picturesque campus ? Or the passion of pursuing knowledge and personal ideal? Actually, many CUHKers would agree that one of the most appealing features of our university is its --- strong human touch which is a clear reflection of the caring campus culture.
From the Gothic root of the word "Care", we've come to realize that an empathic understanding of the feelings of those in sorrow forms the very essence of 'caring'. Caring does not mean the strong support of the weak; rather, it means understanding and supporting someone in distress.
Although each of us may have personal limitations in caring for others, we can certainly start by first learning to safeguard our own well-being.
